At the Asato Dojo we teach several Okinawan martial arts including :
– Matsubayashiryu karatedo – the school established by Nagamine Shoshin sensei
– Gojuryu – the school created by Miyagi Chojun sensei
– Ryukyu Kobudo – traditional weapons practice from Taira Shinken sensei
– Motoburyu Moidi – the Motobu family style of combat as taught by Shiroma Seihan sensei

5th dan Matsubayashiryu karatedo (under Arakaki Toshimitsu Hanshi) Practicing martial arts for 30+ years including Wadoryu karate, Shorinryu karate, Jujitsu and Okinawan kobudo. First came to Japan in 1996 to study Japanese language, culture and martial arts. Living in Okinawa since 2009.
Conceived the 100 Kata for Karate Day Challenge event to promote the spread of traditional karate practice and connect karateka around the world to Okinawa, the birthplace of karate.
松林流空手道五段（新垣利光範士に師事） 和道流空手道、松林流空手道、柔術、沖縄古武道など武道歴30年以上。日本語、日本文化、武道を学ぶため1996年に初来日2009年より沖縄在住。
空手発祥の地である沖縄と世界の空手家をつなぐため、伝統空手の普及を目的としたイベント「空手の日100の型チャレンジ」を企画。

Andrea Klementisova (5th Dan karate, 2nd Dan kobudo), is a long time practitioner of Shodokan Gojuryu (Gojuryu International Karate Kobudo Federation) and Ryueiryu Kobudo. Teaches Gojuryu Karate and self defense. Andrea, originally from Slovakia, was born into a karate family and started practicing karate at the age of 5. A member of the Slovak national team, won kata and kobudo competitions as an individual and team player. Silver medalist in the Gojuryu division at the 2nd Okinawa Karate World Tournament.
アンドレア・クレメンティソヴァ（空手道五段、古武道二段）は、尚道館剛柔流（剛柔流国際空手古武道連盟）と龍栄流古武道を長年に渡り修行。剛柔流空手と護身術を指導。スロバキア出身のアンドレアは空手一家に生まれ、5歳から空手を始める。スロバキア・ナショナル・チームのメンバーとして、型や古武道の大会で個人・団体ともに優勝。第2回沖縄空手世界大会・剛柔流の部銀メダリスト。

6th Dan Ryukyu Kobudo with Renshi and Shihan titles under Sensei Tamayose Hidemi, Hanshi since 1993 and a founding member of the Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan.
Also a P.hD in Asian Arts and philosophies (unrecognized field of study) from the university of Hawaii. Started karate and kobudo in 1982 originally under O’sensei Richard Kim with the Zen Bien Butokukai.
First came to Okinawa in 1993. 7th Dan Renshi in Meibukan Gojyu-Ryu and long time member of the IMGKA, the International Meibukan Gojyu-Ryu karate-do association. Studying Gojyu since 1982 and Meibukan since 1989 under 3 generations of Yagi family.

Studied karate and kobudo under Sensei Kiyomasa Maeda. In order to create his own style and explore new possibilities in karate, he joined the Asato Dojo in 2022. He is committed to promoting and discovering the potential of karate as a self-defense art by comparing the traditional culture of karate with modern martial arts.
