I have visited and participated in multiple classes and seminars at Astro dojo since 2023. I highly recommend Astro Dojo to everyone. Whether a beginner or someone with decades of training experience, Astro dojo is a welcoming place where everyone can participate and learn. This unique venue offers instruction in a variety of empty hand and traditional weapons styles - each with highly qualified instructors. This is the perfect place to learn martial arts, deepen your connection to Okinawa martial arts culture, and make friends.Posted on John SweeneyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Decided to drop in for a Karate class while visiting Okinawa. Haven’t done any Martial Arts in a very long time but looking into getting back into it. Sensei James was great, highly knowledgeable and a excellent teacher. Highly recommend.Posted on tara linnellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Awesome! I am new to karate and got a lot of exposure to the basics within a short period of time during a private session. James is passionate about what he teaches and was generous with his knowledge. I really appreciated his sharing on the history of karate as well! I'm grateful I managed to find his dojo when I was looking for one near my hotel.Posted on Roshan DaryananiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend Asato Dojo in Naha. James Pankiewicz Sensei and his team offer excellent training in karate, kobudo, and more, with top-class facilities and a very welcoming atmosphere. The teaching is clear, supportive and suitable for all levels. James also organises fantastic karate tours, connecting visitors with high-level masters across Okinawa. A great dojo with a brilliant atmosphere—definitely worth training at.Posted on Julio SaldañaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tuve una excelente experiencia tomando una clase de Kobudo con el sensei James. Como estudiante de Karate esta fue mi primera vez practicando con armas, las instrucciones del sensei ayudaron a que fuera fácil y entretenido.Posted on Zac LeongTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently had the honor of a private karate lesson with Sensei James. I have a year of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience, but I was completely new to karate. It was an incredible experience to be introduced to this art by a true legend of Okinawan karate. Sensei James was welcoming, patient, and deeply knowledgeable. I highly recommend Asato Dojo to anyone—of any age—interested in martial arts and philosophy, or in gaining a deeper understanding of Okinawan culture, history, and tradition.Posted on Dominic ClarkTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great Dojo! I have done classes in Gojuryu with both Dan & Andrea who were both amazing with highly skilked teachers for all levels. I highly recommend for any Karate students in Japan. 👊Posted on PascalTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. On September 15th, I had the special opportunity to train at the Asato Dojo in Naha Okinawa, the birthplace of Karate – even though I had only registered at very short notice. James Pankiewicz Sensei responded quickly and without complication, and the dojo even provided me with a karate dogi. The training itself was an outstanding experience: Pankiewicz Sensei teaches with impressive expertise, a deep understanding of Karate as well as the physics and dynamics of the body. His ability to convey techniques with precise body awareness makes the training both highly educational and truly inspiring. If I were still in Naha, I would visit this dojo as often as possible. In this sense, it’s not “farewell” but rather “see you again.” どうもありがとうございますLoad more
